The meeting was called to order by president Gary Pickett. Officers fo rthe 1998-99 Academic Year are: President: Gary Pickett, Vice President: Barb Matey, and secretary: Tom Danford.

Dr. Dunn presented the faculty the salary distribution for 1998-99 as follows:

$131207	Available for distribution
$29567	Funded 10 promotions
$35574	To be distributed as $ across-the-board; $523 per faculty member
$45738	To be distributed as a % across-the-board; 1.88% per faculty member
$10164	To be distributed for outstanding performance (10%); $166 to each of 61 faculty
$5082	To be distributed for market conditions (5%); $424 to 12 faculty who developed an IPSI syllabus or taught a course by HEITV
$5082	To be distributed based on equity (5%); average distributed to 4 faculty members; 3 associate professor to equalize distribution in that rank; 1 assistant professor to raise the minimum salary in that rank

Salary Statistics for 1998-1999:

$1913	Average increase
5.4%	Average percentage increase

Dr. Dunn also spoke about the course fees. West Virginia Northern is asking for a $2.00 per credit hour increase for in-state students - $24 for full time in-state students.
Faculty were asked to submit budget needs for programs to the division.
Tom Danford and Grace Norton were recognized for having course approved by the SREB for the internet - distance education.
On May 6 there will be a dedication ceremony for completion of the B&O roof.
West Virginia Northern now owns the CSX property adjacent to the B&O.
Dr. Dunn has been selected to participate in an educators round table at Oxford - future of community college international.
Gary Pickett congratulated Charleen Stokes for an outstanding job as president and secretary of faculty senate for the past three years - met will full senate approval.
The next part of the meeting was to complete the committee membership for the 1998-99 academic year. The list will be sent to the division chairs and the remaining corrections will be done during division meetings.
Announcements

-- A search committee will be established for the Vice President for finance and will meet during the summer.-- Summer Institute II will be held from July 6 thought July 10.

-- Nancy Krupinski will attend the great teachers seminar and there is still one slot for an alternate.

The next meeting will be held in August, 1998
