SUBJECT: REPORT ON FRIDAY; ATTACHED DRAFT POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

The Academic Administration Task Force is continuing toward completion of its analysis and development of its recommendations. At Friday's meeting of faculty prior to division meetings, we will present a report, with key points of the recommendations to date. We will also outline steps yet to be developed, which especially include coordination of plans in relation to student development.
Enclosed are draft position descriptions for six positions. As indicated to you earlier, we felt the faculty position description also needed updated to be consistent with current practices and expectations. Also, there is obvious correlation among the different positions, which we will attempt to explain more graphically at the meeting on Friday. The administrative positions and descriptions result from a review of the tasks and processes outlined as ones needed, which we shared with you earlier, with consolidation of functions aimed at strengthening both teaching and support of teaching. We encourage you to review these drafts prior to Friday's meeting. Your subsequent input to any member of the Task Force is also encouraged. You will find it helpful to bring these and copies of materials which were distributed to you from the Task Force earlier for reference at the meeting.
