West Virginia Northern Community College

In order to validate the newly adopted evaluation tool, the Faculty Evaluation Review Committee recommends the following with respect to the evaluation of full time faculty:

• that for the next three evaluation cycles, all full time faculty (including tenured, full professors) complete the entire process;

• that an external consultant be hired to collect and analyze the data, including specific item analysis;

• that data analysis include at least comparisons by division, by rank, and by years of service;

• that the data and its analysis be used to revise both items and guidelines for ratings;

• and that after this three year trial, a valid alternative evaluation procedure for tenured, full professors be established such that the tenured full professor would be required to complete the entire process only every third year.
