The Two Window System

In the two window system, two connections are made to Diversity University (DU). The first connection is a telnet one, usually made with a MOO client (software program). This connection is established first (login complete). The second window is the web browser which is then connected and displays the web page view from DU. One uses the mouse or keystrokes to toggle between the two views.

A. MOO Clients

There are many good MOO clients available for download. I am recommending GMUD because of its easy of download/installation and use. Other programs, like Pueblo or WinWorld, will work as well.

1. Downloading and Installing GMUD

Configure GMUD for DU

Once you have GMUD running, you will need to configure it for DU. Do this by:

Name: DU Host: moo.du.org
Port: 8888

Connecting to DU

1. telnet connection first

You should connect and arrive at your "home" (BIO*Space or Micro-Student-Lounge)

2. web connection next

Now the web page will load; use the mouse to click between the two windows or use ALT-TAB to toggle between them.

To refresh the webpage view, click on LOOK AROUND
